$$$Making Your Dollar Go Farther$$$
In hard economic times, everybody is looking for new ways to re-use items and to save money on the items that they need to buy. I’m not sure why it’s taken everyone so long to jump on the bandwagon; I’ve been looking for vintage and used handbags for a long time now! Maybe it’s just because I’ve been on quite a budget these days. Although I blog about bags that cost hundreds of dollars, the reality is that not everybody can afford them. Erin and I always give you sales and deals updates, so keep looking for those(you can save a lot of money on designer bags just by watching out for sales). You can also keep your eye out for great deals at unusual places. Don’t only look at the local mall for great deals on brand name handbags, there are a few other places that I’ve found can save you a lot of money! Keep in mind that you probably won’t find something on your first visit; try checking these places out once a week and you will come across some good finds. Find your local thrift store(some are definitely better than others). Keep in mind the area that you are in and what kind of people will donate to what stores. I’ve found designer handbags at thrift stores for only a few dollars. People are starting to catch onto the trend and will price the designer bags a lot higher than a few dollars, but you are still saving money. The other place to look is garage sales! A few weekends ago I found a house that had dozens of handbags, totes and wallets laid out on the ground with a sign saying “$2.00 for everything.” Just be versatile and creative; it’s the only way to save yourself some money right now. Who knows, maybe it’s something that you will catch on to and start doing all the time. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to have a few really nice handbags, but keep in mind that there are tons of great deals out there on slightly used merchandise!
