Steve Madden Brufflet

By Shari | June 6, 2010 | Filed Under Satchels

Steve Madden Handbags Like delicate whipped cream, the Steve Madden Brufflet is fluffy, feathery, white, and luxurious.

This ruffle satchel is truly lovely. It can be carried by hand, over the shoulder, or by the detachable crossbody strap. Other features include 1 inside zipper pocket and 2 inside compact pockets that can be used to hold a cell phone or other smaller items.

At $88, it’s truly a steal. A more trendy, stylish handbag under $90 would be difficult to find.

Snag the Steve Madden Brufflet at eBags.com. Also check out other Steve Madden handbags while you’re there.

Jessica Simpson Bags Vapor Satchel

By Shari | February 26, 2010 | Filed Under Satchels

Jessica Simpson Vapor Satchel I am in love with my new bag – the Jessica Simpson Vapor Satchel. It’s the perfect combination of affordability, shape, style, and organization.

I needed a bag for a trip I’m taking to New York next month. I also wanted something for everyday – something neutral colored but not boring. Something sophisticated but with eye-catching style. I love satchels so, naturally, I started looking there. I knew I wanted something reasonably priced but not cheap. I found the Jessica Simpson Vapor Satchel at eBags and bought it hoping it would be a perfect fit.

And it is! The bag is absolutely lovely. I bought the brown color, but it is a brown with a touch of red (more like mahogany). Since I didn’t want something too dark, this color is perfect. The croco material gives the bag stylish texture and there is just the right amount of hardware for my taste.

It’s larger than I expected, but that’s also works out for me. It means I can fit in my camera bag when I’m out sightseeing and my book (a full size hardback) when I’m heading out for my flight.

The inside of the bag is also better than I expected. There are several pockets that fit things like my cell phone, etc. There are actually two zipper close main compartments so on one side right now I have my essentials and the other I have my book. The zipper top will also come in handy during my trip. It’s always a good idea to carry a bag with a fully-closed top when traveling so people can’t reach in easily.

The Jessica Simpson Vapor Satchel is available in other colors as well: black, raspberry, and rust. Find it at eBags.com for $108.00.

Luce Soft Satchel

By Carmen | February 8, 2010 | Filed Under Satchels

Luce Soft Satchel I love leather bags but oftentimes when I’m out looking for a new leather handbag, they all start to the look the same. That’s not the case with the Luce Soft Satchel though. This is a truly standout leather satchel handbag.

Luce soft leather handbags are just as the name suggests – soft. Yet they’re also durable. What I love about the Luce Soft Satchel is the fact that the bag is broken up by hardware and textures that make it something different from your average leather purse.

The Luce Soft Satchel is available in 4 colors – British Tan (pictured here), Cognac, Red, and Black. I like the British Tan because it coordinates with just about everything and it’s a good, lighter color for spring and summer.

As you might expect (because it’s a satchel) this bag comes with plenty of pockets for organization – both interior and exterior.

Snag this beauty at eBags.com for $210.00.

Nine West Handbags Karina Med Satchel

By Shari | February 4, 2010 | Filed Under Satchels

Nine West Handbags Karina Med Satchel I’ll admit it. I’m a little weird when it comes to handbags shapes. I love the slouchy, relaxed look of a hobo handbag, but I am not a fan of the curved bottom. That’s why I tend to gravitate toward satchels instead even though oftentimes they’re more structured in the sides and top. So when I saw the Karina Med Satchel from Nine West, I was suprised and I had to have it.

The Nine West Handbags Karina Med Satchel is a medium sized purse with the look of pebble leather although it is full grain pebble PVC. The sides and top have a slouchy hobo look to them while the bottom is flat as is customary with satchels. There are two interior and two exterior pockets and the interior has an easy-to-clean nylon lining.

At just under $100 ($89.00 at eBags.com), this bag is truly stylish without the designer price tag.

B. Makowsky Classics – Astor Satchel – One Sexy Bag

By Shari | November 20, 2009 | Filed Under Satchels

B Makowsky Classics Astor Satchel If you’re looking for a sexy, not too expensive, smaller satchel, have I got one for you. The B. Makowsky Classics Astor Satchel is a beautiful leather handbag and happens to be my latest obsession. I love the red/cognac color, but it is also available in black and black/brandy.

This bag may be small, but it’s full of organization. It features two interior slide pockets, key fob, back wall zipper pocket, front exterior turn lock closure pocket, back exterior slide pocket, and additional compartments with hidden magnetic closures. Metal feet on the bottom of the bag protect it from excessive wear.

At $238.00, the bag is truly designer style without the designer price tag. It’s also not so inexpensive that you question the quality. This bag definitely lives up to the B Makowsky name.

Satchels: Wish I Could Get Them All

By Shari | August 22, 2009 | Filed Under Satchels

I used to love totes. I couldn’t get enough of them because of their versatility. I still like totes, but my latest obsession is satchels.

What are satchels? Well, yes of course they’re handbags, but satchels are a more specific kind of purse that usually has a top closure, top carry handles, flat bottom, and a semi-triangular side profile. My last satchel purchase was the Kathy Van Zeeland in the clear Swagger Satchel (lemon yellow of course since yellow was HOT this summer), but now I’ve got my eye on the newest satchels for fall.

Satchels, like totes, offer a lot of versatility but just a little more organization than tote bags. That’s why I’m starting to like them more and more. I love the shape (the flat bottom, the handles) but the fact that I can fit a lot in them without them being bulky and without losing everything at the bottom is an added bonus.

Check out some of the newest satchels available for fall.

My Latest Addition – Kathy Van Zeeland In The Clear Swagger Satchel

By Shari | June 12, 2009 | Filed Under Satchels

Kathy Van Zeeland Purses In The Clear Swagger Satchel I’m heading out on a 2 week road trip next month and I needed a new bag that not only embodied summer fashion, but also was the perfect size for everything I might need while out and about. Normally I’m not into Kathy Van Zeeland purses because they tend to have a little too much bling for my taste. Nothing wrong with bling for those of you who love KVZ. Just not my style. So imagine my surprise when I happened upon the Kathy Van Zeeland In The Clear Swagger Satchel. It’s the perfect sized should bag and comes in great summer colors including a beautiful bright lemon yellow.

The bag features zip closure which is perfect for travel since I don’t want anyone reaching into my bag to grab my wallet. It also has shiny silver toned hardware and stud detailing which makes the bag stylish and unique but not so unique as to clash with my style. Of course it also includes the interior logoed fabric lining.

Since I bought this bag at eBags I may just have to take some pictures on my trip and share them on their Facebook page.

Anyway, for those of you who love Kathy Van Zeeland purses (and even those of you who haven’t purchased one yet), I highly recommend this bag this season.
