Stocking Stuffers to Compliment Your Handbag Gift

By | December 7, 2009 | Filed Under Gift Ideas, Purse Accessories

Picking out a handbag as a gift can be tough, but once you’ve found one, the going gets easier. As women, we all know that a handbag is one thing, but what we put into it is a completely different matter. So guys, here’s something to help you out with finding some nifty stocking–or bag–stuffers to complement your girl’s handbag:

The “Clipa” A girl’s handbag is a little like a guy’s favorite golfing cap–we don’t like to leave it on the ground. Handbags Clipa can be a pretty hefty investment. So if you know someone who always thinks twice before placing their bag on the ground, consider this stocking stuffer. The Clipa is ring that can go around the strap of a handbag. This nifty tool is an instant bag hanger. Whether it’s on the back of a chair or on the edge of a table, the Clipa keeps handbags off of the ground and spotless, saving your mom, your girlfriend, or your buddy the trouble of finding a place to put it.

Inserts: Even though we probably do it more than we need to, it is NOT a girl’s favorite past-time to go digging through her purse. Which is why handbag inserts are sometimes necessary to keep us sane. If you know that special someone has issues with finding their pen, or heaven forbid their phone, it’s time to look into some inserts for their handbag. If you’re a guy and you really think about it, a handbag insert is probably both beneficial to your girl AND you. After all, you might not have to wait as long on the other end of the phone as she’s digging through a black hole trying to answer your call.

Here are some other handy-dandy stocking stuffers under $20 that you can consider:

Carrying Makeup in Style

By Amelie | December 5, 2009 | Filed Under Purse Accessories

How do you carry your makeup? Do you suffer through lipstick smudges on your wallet when the tube accidentally opens inside your purse? Do you stash it in a plastic bag in your luggage when you travel? Why do this when you can just as easily carry it in a cosmetic bag or travel with a cosmetic case?

Cosmetic bags (sometimes known as makeup bags) and cosmetic cases (sometimes called beauty cases or train cases) are essential. They keep makeup organized and protect your bag and its contents from accidental spills and smudges. The difference between cases and bags is sometimes a fine line, but generally cosmetic bags are smaller pouches designed to hold just the essentials in a larger bag like a handbag. A cosmetic case, on the other hand, tends to be a larger bag that holds more makeup and is used during travel. Cosmetic cases are also great for makeup storage at home. Afterall, if you organize your makeup in your handbag, it doesn’t make sense to stash it haphazardly in a drawer at home.

Cosmetic bags and cases make wonderful gifts for just about any woman since many come in beautiful styles. Some bags even come in sets that are bundled together for that “gift” look.

Check out some of our favorite cosmetic bags and cosmetic cases below.

Makeup Bags

By Amelie | October 25, 2009 | Filed Under Purse Accessories

Betseyville Pop-Art 3 Piece Cosmetic Bags If you find yourself digging into the back of your bathroom drawers or the bottoms of your handbags in a fruitless attempt to recover that forever elusive tube of lipstick or mascara, then it is high time that you invest in a makeup bag. Makeup bags keep all of your beauty essentials in one place and in many cases are so compact that you can take them from your vanity, drop them into your purses and you are ready for a night out.

Makeup bags are a fantastic way to keep all of your cosmetics in order and within reach, while protecting them from getting dirty or destroyed. We have all experienced the dreaded lint ball stuck to our tube of lipgloss, which inadvertently lost its cap somewhere in the depths of our hobos. Or we’ve dug down deep into a carryall to find fragments of our compact, powder, and mirror from the last time we dropped our bag.

Fossil Kristin Small Dome CosmeticLet’s face it, makeup can wreak havoc on the interior of your purse…and on your sanity when you can’t find your eyelash curler and your date is impatiently ringing the doorbell. Keeping everything tidy in a makeup case is a no brainer, and the perfect excuse to go out and buy yet another cute something for yourself!

Makeup cases come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, much like their larger counterparts. If you carry a hot handbag, then you are definitely going to want to carry a fabulous makeup bag as well, and finding a cosmetics bags that you’ll love is an easy feat to accomplish.

PurseN Classic Make-up BagBetseyville makes fun and girly makeup cases in both personal and travel sizes, while PurseN bags are designed to be perfect little organizers. For a more conservative, yet still completely fabulous assortment of makeup bags, Stephanie Johnson has a dizzying array of cosmetics bags and cases with pastel brocade prints and floral motifs in zip top, fold-out, fold-over and clutch designs.

Makeup bags are a true beauty essential. With so many great choices on the market, why on earth would anyone want to continue doing the mad hunt for their blush brush when they could keep it well stored and clean in a makeup bag? And if you are one to opt for Ziploc bags to keep your beauty items together, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to something you won’t be embarrassed to pull out in the ladies room when you go to powder your nose. Get thee a makeup bag and be happy!

Journeys with Jewelry

By | July 30, 2009 | Filed Under Purse Accessories

It took me awhile to learn to wear jewelry. Not that I didn’t enjoy it, I just found it to be too much of a hassle to have to keep a variety on hand to cater to each occasion. On top of that, it seemed like the times that I felt the most “naked” without a few sparkling accessories were when I was traveling. And this meant I would have had to plan out and find a proper way to transport my jewelry as well.

For awhile I used a Ziploc bag, but then my bracelets and necklaces ended up looking like a huge spaghetti knot after their journey via the hands of luggage handlers.

When I moved onto one of the little gift boxes necklaces came in I only had room for about three small items… having easy access was nice, but as fate would have it the last piece I took out while packing was always the one I would need…

I have finally found my solution thanks to Rowallan’s Joan Jewelry case.

With its vivid pink color I won’t have to worry about losing it in my luggage or leaving it behind when it’s time to leave. The size is perfect, with enough room to have a nice selection, compartments to keep my pieces organized and is still small enough to stash in my suitcase with ease.

Goodbye Missing Earring, Hello Jewelry Case

By | July 21, 2009 | Filed Under Purse Accessories

If you’re a girl on the run with jobs that aren’t necessarily the most fashionable (like working in a science lab), you know that keeping track of your jewelry can often be a hassle. I occasionally find myself coming home after a long day at work only to find one of my two earrings still nestled inside my purse. And it’s then that I realize that it’s either sitting on my work bench, in my gym locker, or I’ll never see it again.

So after a year of living with the fact that my pair of earrings will eventually become singular, I finally found an alternative: the jewelry case. Not just any kind of jewelry case, but the one that efficiently fits into your handbag. I first came across this classy Rowallan Annley Jewelry Roll. With its help, I’ve managed to maintain my earrings’ relationships with one another. All without having to lug around an excessively large jewelry case. The jewelry roll is small enough to fit inside my handbag, locker, or desk without taking up too much space.

It’s a definite plus for women like me who are forgetful and always on the run, making it difficult to keep track of their belongings. (Especially belongings as miniscule as an earring.)

Pursehooks – A Great Last-Minute Stocking Stuffer

By Carmen | December 14, 2008 | Filed Under Purse Accessories

Pursehooks In Action Any woman who carries a purse knows that it is sometimes hard to find a good place to put it when eating out, hanging out at the bar, etc. The floor is often dirty. The back of the chair is NEVER a good option since it is easily accessible to everyone. Sometimes you can place it on the chair next to you if one is open. However, here’s the best solution. Hang it from the table on a hook.

Pursehooks allow you to do just that – hang your handbag from the table where it is within your sight but certainly far from that dirty floor. These handy accessories not only protect your bag, but they look great. They also make wonderful stocking stuffers!

Each Pursehook comes with its own carry bag so you can easily stash it in your handbag and pull it out whenever you need it.
