eenamaria launches in UK Department Store: Allders
Friday, July 3rd - London, UK
Harold Tillman or Owner of Allders, Jaeger and Editor at Vogue UK to many….will be opening the new Fashion Capital boutique at Allders Department Store along with Sarah Mower, Fashion Editor at the Daily Telegraph.
WOW!! What an honor, a last minute invite to have the eenamaria collection be part of the new boutique in this 147 year old department store. I am flying Thursday to my homeland to launch the first venue in the UK to carry the eenamaria bags!! So, exciting. Happen to be in London on Friday? See the invite and directions below!
In other news, a very fabulous, very inspired and deliciously hilarious Robert Verdi had me over to his fabulous Manhattan pied-a-terre (of course entirely sponsored by ridiculously lavish brands - hustler supreme that he is) to get a sneak peak on last Friday’s She’s Got the Look. Yowzers..that show is hot and somewhat crazy at the same time!
So, I’ll take lots of pix in London and be sure to show you how an 1862 established department store looks in 2009!
Signing off…..

Designer Blog:eenamaria in the hands of celebs and media….
Although the weather has not been the most favorable for a summer spent at home, since that’s what we’re all doing this year!! I was still able to get in some surfing at New York City’s local Hawaii on Long Island spot…Rockaway Beach.
Meanwhile at a luncheon across town, in Harlem to be exact, Saucy PR hosted 15 taste makers, women who are making their businesses a resounding success, at a get together. They compared notes notes on how they’re making it big and took home an eenamaria gift bag. Shaunie O’Neal (Mrs. Shaq O’Neal to some) took one of our popular ‘Murse or Purse?’ bags home.
Then to top it all off, my new favorite handbag connoisseur Pamela Pekerman included our bags in an interview about the Spring/Summer 09 must haves…..its all about show and tell this week!
Signing off…

Designer Blog: My new *favorite* in my Fall Collection…Edie Carry-all in Lakeshore
My upcoming Fall 2009 collection is inspired by the working girl with an edge.
All bags are functionally and aesthetically pleasing…but especially the Edie!
Made with three interior sections, it was designed for the woman on the go! I redesigned it with this new inspiration in mind.
My girlfriend Edie and I met back in 1994 when we both were in the music industry. Me in radio and her at Atlantic Records. Over the last 15 years (yikes did I really say that), our paths have crossed several different times for different reasons. She has been in and out of record labels but never lost her love of music or for the bands she worked with over the years! She is always the consummate organizer…from weekend trips to happy hours. Her LA sense of style isn’t over the top and so I wanted her bag to reflect that. So I took the classic original (which she is) and gave it an edge with more even more durability (much like her career).
I hope you like the changes and I can’t wait for it to be available! But as with my entire collection, everything is made in limited quantities, so it won’t be available forever…
Designer Blog: American made or not?
I am new to this blogging deal, I am excited for two reasons…one for you to get to know me and two for you to get to know my collection…
I started this venture several years ago *technically* but I found my contractor in 2006 (had first *offical* season in 2007) and just got a showroom a month ago! I am hoping this is my time to officially launch…but with every growing business there are hurdles we face and this is one I have thought about for a while and want to get others opinions…
With that said, I am finding it very frustrating competing against other designers who have their production in China. Over the years, I have been told time and time again that in order to grow and get bigger, I would have to do the same. Is it wrong that I don’t want to because of my principals? I LOVE having my designs handcrafted in the states (Chicago, IL to be exact). I HATE the idea of mass-production over seasees. But am I holding onto these principals for nothing? Does it even make a difference to the consumer? Do they care where they are made or just that they can get them at a certain price? How important is celebrity endorsement? I want my customer to feel like they discovered me, not the other way around. I truly want them to feel like they have something unique and can’t get everywhere. But is that principal going to get in my way of growth?
OK, I will get off my soapbox now, but I am just curious how others feel. Would love to hear from you!

Designer Blog: This week at eenamaria
This week at eenamaria……
Wow! Where do I begin? I feel like what used to happen in six months is now happening in the space of a week.
Well, to start, I had a very wonderful and exciting meeting with Fern Mallis at her office at IMG Models. Over the past year I have managed to gift Fern several different eenamaria accessories, but perhaps the one that is the best for the summer trips to The Hamptons is the well sized ‘I Mean Bizniss’ Travel Tote at 16″ high x 20″ wide, four exterior pockets, two are small and open and two are large zipper pockets, with the main interior compartment measuring 6.5″ wide a family of four’s beach essentials could easily pack in there….ahh finally, Memorial Day Weekend is here.
Fern Mallis- always between fabulous events & ‘I Mean Bizniss’ Travel Tote
Anyway, back to Fern, it seems she believes we’ve got what it takes, so you may be seeing more of us in unexpected places….ps. we love her on her new show with Isaac Mizrahi ‘The Fashion Show’, after all she is the most powerful woman in fashion!! Yay Fern.
So, I left Fern and had to head straight over to the Fashion Institute of Technology’s ‘Next Generation Awards’. WOW! I couldn’t believe what these young hipsters had been working on….leopard skin copper plated, fabulous fashion bonanza…I need me some of these talented interns….hello Spring 2010 is calling!!! AMAZING.
OK, finished up there and the next night I was heading over to see the opening of Star Trek on IMAX (brilliant by the way and I’m no Treky) and who should I bump into but Edie Falco, of course two days later I got a lovely personal note from her and so out we sent the Sterling Belt Bag (available soon on E-Bags) to help her carry everything when she’s running around after her two tykes, Macy and Anderson, here’s my question, how does she stay looking so good?
I can’t wait to see her new show Nurse Jackie, it looks like Carmela got super sassy and a little twisted and took on her own career…..fierce, June 18, Showtime, don’t miss it.
Edie Falco - her new Sterling Belt Bag.
Meanwhile, over at The Hudson Hotel, Jenny Montgomery, eenamaria’s Princess of Administration and Fabulousness was being interviewed about the collection soon available on E-Bags. How sylin’ is she in this interview? Check it out: Jenny shows and tells new eenamaria bags.
How does eenamaria fit this all in? Only one more thing and perhaps the most New York of experiences. The opening of SPiN NY. A table tennis club, the latest sports club in New York. They had the opening celebration off-site at the new Standard Hotel. Susan Sarandon and hubby Tim Robbins were celebrating Susan’s recent investment project by watching son Miles play in the tournament, here, as you can see, I am looking rather beaten after losing my game, but still happy to be at a very cool opening. I’m a founding member of SPiN New York, so I’ll let you know how the actual club is, once I’ve played a round of table tennis there.
Til next week….signing off, the Urban Nomad, Sarah. I have to go and finish up designing Spring 2010, before it finishes up me.
