Lauren Bush: FEED Bags a Great Choice for Eco-concious/Socially Responsible Shoppers!
![]() |
Laura Bush first started her vision for the FEED program in 2006, when her first FEED bag was made. “The FEED 100 reusable bag is made of organic cotton and natural burlap and is produced with a commitment to ensuring fair treatment of workers, livable wages, paid overtime and safe and clean working environments(http://wholefoodsmarket.com).” |

“Each purchase of a FEED 100 reusable shopping bag will ensure 100 full bellies, encourage education and lead to a brighter future for school children.” With each purchase through Whole Foods, “$10 will be donated by FEED Projects’ foundation, FEED Foundation, to the World Food Program’s Rwanda School Feeding operation; with the remainder going to cover the costs of the bag and oversight of the program by the FEED foundation. To further help the initiative, Whole Foods Market is not making a profit by offering the bags to its shoppers(http://wholefoodsmarket.com)” For more information on where you can find these bags, visit the following websites: http://www.feedprojects.org/ or http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/ |

Personally, I think this is a great bag for a great cause! Be sure to check out those websites above. There is a lot of information about the program, what it does and who it is helping. It’s great to know that you are helping out so many people by just simply buying a bag. Along with Whole Foods Market, I recently saw these bags on amazon.com. What an easy way to make a difference! Check out the handbags forum for an awesome video about the FEED Bags and their efforts in Rawanda! |

Matt & Nat Vegan Handbags - Eco Chic
Stella McCartney, Matt & Nat, and other fashion forward designers are proving that eco friendly handbags can look rich and luxe. I love this unique Japanese paper across body bag. What’s cool about japanese paper is that it’s handmade from long fibers. The fibers are such that its lightweight and yet durable. Also, the wrinkle effect of this matt and nat grandmaster bag gives it that wonderful worn leather look the eco friendly way.

Meet English Retreads Handbags and Accessories! I absolutely love this handbag line because they are HOT fashion and earth friendly. A little tid-bit: When was the last time you saw parts of an 18-wheeler truck sashay down the runway at a fashion show? Well, you’re about to if Heather English, owner-designer of English Retreads has her way. Heather makes a reality of “On the Road Again” by designing and producing stunning handbags and accessories from repurposed inner tubes. Founded on socially and environmentally conscious ideals, English Retreads believes in using only cruelty free and vegan materials in conjunction with crafty ingenuity. Each new design begins with the idea of striving to keep more waste out of the landfill by creating fashionable, yet sturdy items out of recycled materials. When it comes to recycling fashionably, English Retreads is where the rubber meets the road! A glimpse of my favs: |

Go GREEN!

Happy Earth Day!!Today is an important day to appreciate the Mother Earth and the world all around us. Becoming eco-conscious is not only about learning about the affects products have on our environment but also making the necessary changes to ensure we keep our world on the right path. How can you help: 1. Re Route your commute. Bike, Walk or take Public Transportation. 2. Buy Local. Support the local community. 3. Use energy saving devices. Install energy saving bulbs. Turn down thermostat. Wash clothes in cold water. 4. Recycle. 5. Make your own cleaning supplies. 6. Add one meatless meal a week. Meat production requires huge energy output, cutting down on consumption can help energy costs. 7. Compost food scraps. 8. Invest in eco-friendly, socially responsible products. |
