Olivia + Joy Launches at Macy’s
Fibre2Fashion.com reports that a new line of affordable yet totally trendy handbags is set to debut this week at Macy’s. The line is called olivia + joy and can be characterized as “very pretty and edge at the same time”. Look for bags that feature studs, chains, ruffles, bows, muted pastels, black and white, and rocker chic trends.
Reports say the bags will be priced under $100. How’s that for trendy yet less spendy!?
Olivia + Joy is a division of Accessory Exchange, a company best known for their collaboration with House of Dereon and the licensee for brands like XOXO Handbags.

Scarlett Johansson Designs Haiti Handbag
Celebrity-gossip.net reports that Scarlett Johansson is designing a handbag to help raise money for earthquake ravaged Haiti.
The handbag is reportedly going to be a tote decorated with an ancient map of Haiti and with the message, “Supporting the people of Haiti”.
Kate Moss For Longchamp
According to an article on Justluxe.com, Kate Moss is stepping off the runway and into the roll of designer at Longchamp. She is currently working with the brand’s artistic designer on a line of bags for the Spring/Summer 2010 collection. That timeline means they should be hitting store shelves soon.
Moss has long been the face of Longchamp, but this new role should prove to add some new beautiful pieces to the already stylish Longchamp lineup. Apparently, the new collections will consist of 12 styles named for Kate Moss’ favorite London areas including SoHo, Glastonbury, and Gloucester.

Video – Woman’s Handbag Caught in Subway
A video has been released of a woman being dragged by her handbag in the subway in Boston. The video shows the woman trying to pull her purse from the doors where it became stuck when the train begins to move. She tries to hold on to the bag, but eventually is forced to let go near the end of the platform. The momentum slams her into a wall, but she suffers only a bloody nose and bruise to the head.

It’s amazing she wasn’t seriously injured. The news story states that it’s difficult to tell who’s at fault although one employee was suspended and another fired.

Disney Princess Engagement Rings
Thanks to designer Kirstie Kelly, you can now have a Disney Princess inspired wedding. At Bridal Week in New York, a new line of Disney Princess engagement rings was revealed. The Kirstie Kelly for Disney by Mouawad includes rings with matching bands inspired by Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Jasmine, Ariel, Cinderella, and Belle. Pair any one of them up with a dress from Kirstie’s Disney bridal gown collection and add jewels, a tiara, and/or veil for the complete princess look.

eenamaria launches in UK Department Store: Allders
Friday, July 3rd – London, UK
Harold Tillman or Owner of Allders, Jaeger and Editor at Vogue UK to many….will be opening the new Fashion Capital boutique at Allders Department Store along with Sarah Mower, Fashion Editor at the Daily Telegraph.
WOW!! What an honor, a last minute invite to have the eenamaria collection be part of the new boutique in this 147 year old department store. I am flying Thursday to my homeland to launch the first venue in the UK to carry the eenamaria bags!! So, exciting. Happen to be in London on Friday? See the invite and directions below!
In other news, a very fabulous, very inspired and deliciously hilarious Robert Verdi had me over to his fabulous Manhattan pied-a-terre (of course entirely sponsored by ridiculously lavish brands – hustler supreme that he is) to get a sneak peak on last Friday’s She’s Got the Look. Yowzers..that show is hot and somewhat crazy at the same time!

I have always loved looking back at old articles and seeing what was popular during a certain period. I came across this article from the St. Petersburg times written on March 12, 1953; I just had to share it with you! What’s so interesting to me is that two of the main points that the author mentioned about handbags are still relevant today. Patent Leather and Straw Handbags are among some of the top trends going into summer and these were “all the rage” in the 50′s. Very interesting. Check it out!
