Joe’s Handbags For National Joe Day

By Shari | March 27, 2009 | Filed Under Handbags, Leather Handbags
Today (March 27) is National Joe Day. What is that? Well, if you don’t like your name or just want to be someone else for a little while, then this is the day to do it. On National Joe Day you can introduce yourself to others as “Joe” (or “Jo” if you’re female). For more ideas on how to celebrate National Joe Day, see this article on eHow.

In honor of National Joe Day, I thought I’d share some of my favorite handbags from Joe’s Handbags. Joe’s Handbags are from the makers of Joe’s Jeans and are perfect for the style-savvy woman. The bags are made with European techniques and embody the spirit of “classic” and “sexy”.

Global Elements – Unique Materials, Must Haves!

By Carmen | March 24, 2009 | Filed Under Eco-Friendly, Straw Bags
Global Elements (also know as the GET company) offers an eclectic collection of handbags that are perfect for any occasion – from nights out to casual days with friends. However, what makes many of their bags so unique are the materials used. If you’re into natural materials, check out their bamboo, seagrass, or coconut collections. If earth-friendly handbags are your thing, they have something for you too in the form of bags made from recycled plastic bags (yes like the ones in the grocery store).

But don’t think that just because they use unusual materials that these bags are any less stylish. I personally love the Global Elements Large Coconut Fiber Clutch. Made with coconut fibers, this oversized clutch comes in a rich red color and is perfect for a night out with the girls.

Is It Wedding Season Already?

By Shari | March 23, 2009 | Filed Under Evening Bags

Well, you might think so with the news that Bruce Willis got married over the weekend, Danica McKellar (remember The Wonder Years?) also got hitched, rumors are floating that Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart are engaged, and FoodNetwork is airing their Battle of the Brides Challenge episode throughout the week. Traditionally June is thought of as the big wedding month, but really any season is perfect for THE BIG DAY – especially now that spring is here and flowers are in bloom. So we thought we’d follow the trend and feature some beautiful wedding handbags of our own – not only bridal handbags but also evening handbags and clutches perfect for the wedding party and guests.

What Are Wristlets? Why Do You Want One?

By Shari | March 22, 2009 | Filed Under Clutches, Wallets

Have you ever found yourself wanting to carry something a little larger than a standard wallet but not quite as big as a shoulder bag? Sure a clutch would do the trick, but you want something with a handle. Enter the wristlet!

Wristlets are basically wallets or pouches with a handle so they can be easily carried by hand or on your wrist. These bags are perfect for when you only need a few essentials – a few makeup items, a small amount of cash, keys, a small phone, and a few cards. Like their larger counterparts, wristlets can also be very stylish with bright colors, unique materials, and beautiful patterns.

Just Launched on eBags: Bodhi Handbags

By Farmer | March 20, 2009 | Filed Under Handbags
Bodhi Bags Model

Derived from the Sanskrit term meaning “awakened consciousness”, the word “Bodhi” translates to “enlightenment”. Fittingly, the Bodhi bags collection has adopted an enlightened take on design – focusing on sumptuous materials (Italian leathers, lambskin and fur, crushed patents and metallic suedes), plus vibrant colorations and unique twists on traditional silhouettes. Among its most innovative elements: accordian pleating, externally attached coin purses, large-scale safety pin handles and origami-inspired construction. “We offer unique, handcrafted designs – which, in terms of style and quality, redefine our customer’s expectations,” says Joseph Janus, Bodhi’s Senior Vice President and Creative Director. Janus maintains that Bodhi’s “sophistication, cutting-edge design and handmade quality” are rare commodities today. Beyond basic black, Bodhi’s initial fall palette incorporates saturated shades of violet, champagne, pumpkin, and squash. “We wanted a rich, natural range that complemented luxurious materials” sayd Janus, who has sought to minimize hardware while introducing novel and functional silhouettes in “box” styles.
