| Lately I’ve heard people comment that they don’t really know the difference between bag styles – for instance a hobo vs a satchel. For all of you wondering what makes a tote a “tote” and what top grain leather really is, here is a glossary of terms we use on Handbags.com often. | |

Backpack Handbag: A handbag designed to be carried on the back like a standard backpack. Can have one or two shoulder straps and can be carried with both or just one like a sling. |

Baguette: A handbag that is long and narrow in shape kind of like a French bread loaf. |

Bucket Bag: Named because of it’s shape like a bucket. These bags usually have a rounded bottom and are taller than they are wide. |

Clutch Bag: A small bag with no straps or handles that is designed to be carried under the arm or by hand. Often used as an evening bag. |

Coin Purse: Sometimes called a change purse. A small bag designed to hold coins and often carried in another handbag. |

Wristlet: A clutch or wallet carried on the wrist by a small attached loop. |
